In the urban sprawl of Mumbai, 12 year-old street kid Municipality escapes the reformatory and rescues a two day-old baby from a ferocious street dog. He begins a relentless journey to locate the baby's mother. With both interference and help from fellow street kids, Municipality traces the mother and learns a bitter truth about life, destroying his flawless image of a mother, and his dream of one day finding his own mother who abandoned him as a baby.
